Crystallization of unidirectionally oriented fibrous calcium carbonate on thermo-responsive polymer brush matrices

Abstract

We report a new approach to the formation of unidirectionally oriented fibrous calcium carbonate crystals using a surface-initiated thermo-sensitive polymer brush of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) above the lower critical solution temperature (LCST).
