The role of π–π stacking in stabilizing a,a-trans-cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylate in a 2D Co(ii) network

Abstract

A hydrothermally synthesized coordination network, 2[Co4(e,e-trans-1,4-chdc)3(a,a-trans-1,4-chdc)(phen)4] (1,4-chdc: cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylate, phen: 1,10-phenanthroline), features 1,4-chdc in its rare a,a-trans conformation.
