The first thiosilicate from solution: synthesis and crystal structure of (NH4)2[SiS3(NH3)]·2NH3

Abstract

The ammonolysis of SiS2 in liquid ammonia yields crystalline (NH4)2[SiS3(NH3)]·2NH3, which contains [SiS3(NH3)]2− as a derivative of the ortho-thiosilicate anion SiS44−.
