A novel 3D Cd(ii) metal–organic framework with an unprecedented (5,6)-connected topology based on isophthalate and 2-(3-pyridyl)imidazo[4,5-f]1,10-phenanthroline

Abstract

A novel three dimensional cadmium metal–organic framework [Cd3(1,3-BDC)3(PIP)2]·8H2O (1) with an unprecedented (5,6)-connected topology has been synthesized from the hydrothermal reaction of cadmium(II) nitrate with the mixed ligands isophthalate acid (1,3-H2BDC) and 2-(3-pyridyl)imidazo[4,5-f]1,10-phenanthroline (PIP). Its fluorescence property and thermal stability were investigated.
