The reaction of [(PPh₂ [double bond, length as m-dash] S)₂CH₂] (1) with MeLi followed by a salt elimination reaction with GeCl₄ in toluene afforded a novel germanium bismethanediide complex, 2. The structure of compound 2 has been determined by X-ray crystallography. The topological analysis of the electron densities of compound 2 was performed.
