Mixed-valence interactions in triarylamine–gold–nanoparticle conjugates

Abstract

Optical and electrochemical investigations of triarylamine redox centres attached to gold nanoparticlesvia a π-conjugated bridge show intervalence charge-transfer bands which prove to be surprisingly strong interchromophore interactions.
