This review covers advances and developments in the use of enzymes in synthetic mono- and oligosaccharide chemistry. Particular attention is paid to the use of aldolase/ketolases, glycosidases, glycosyltransferases, lipases, and coupled multi-enzyme biotransformations; 172 references are cited.
