Abstract

Synthesis of new membrane materials incorporating tetrapyrazolic macrocycles. Study of the facilitated transport of the alkaline metals Li+, Na+ and K+.

New macrocyclic ligands with two functionalised lateral arms were synthesised. Their structures differ by the size of the macrocyclic cavity. The membrane materials were obtained by photopolymerisation of formulations that contain the active monomer spread on a polyacrylonitrile support. The facilitated transport and the extraction power of alkaline metals (Li+, Na+ and K+) through the synthesised membranes were reported. We have determined both the diffusion flow of different cations and the selectivity of the prepared membranes towards each cation.
