A ring expansion reaction of 1,3-oxathiolanes

Abstract

1,3-Oxathiolanes are efficiently converted, via sulfur ylide intermediates, to 1,4-oxathianes by ring expansion with a silylated diazoacetate in the presence of a copper catalyst.
