First total synthesis of crassostreaxanthin B
Abstract
The first total synthesis of crassostreaxanthin B 1 was accomplished via the tetrasubstituted olefinic compound 5, prepared by stereoselective rearrangement of epoxides 3a,b using a Lewis acid.
