Monte Carlo studies of wetting behaviour of a model associating fluid

Abstract

The results of Monte Carlo simulations for model systems of associating fluids, performed using the NpT and Gibbs ensembles, are presented. The main finding is the observation of wetting and prewetting transitions caused by the presence of associative forces. Orientational ordering of dimerized particles in the vicinity of the adsorbing wall is discussed. It is also shown that associative forces considerably enhance total adsorption.
