A pre-reactive complex H₂OClF of planar (C_2v) or effectively planar (C_s) geometry is characterised for the first time in mixtures of water vapour and chlorine monofluoride through its rotational spectrum, as observed with a fast-mixing nozzle/Fourier-transform microwave spectrometer.
