Dalton communications. Synthesis and reactivity of tungsten vinylallene complexes

Abstract

Protonation at one of the phenylacetylide substituents of the allylic complexes [W(cp)(CO)23H2CC[C(C[triple bond, length half m-dash]CPh)2]CH2R}](cp =η-C5H5), including the first cationic tungsten–ruthenium allylic vinylidene complex, R = C(Ph)[double bond, length half m-dash]C[double bond, length half m-dash]Ru(cp)(PPh3)2(crystal structure), gave η4-vinylallene complexes.
