Micellar-catalysed reactions for flow injection systems. Determination of pyridoxal-5-phosphate

Abstract

A flow injection spectrofluorimetric procedure is proposed for the determination of pyridoxal-5-phosphate in a micellar medium based on its cyanide-catalysed oxidation by oxygen. In the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, the reaction rate increases by a factor of 3.6 and the pH of maximum fluorescence is also modified. This makes it possible to obtain greater selectivity in the determination.
