Abstract
Thermal fragmentation of pentacarbonyl(1,2-dichlorovinylisocyanide)chromium, (OC)5Cr(CN–ClCCHCl), yields acetylene isocyanide, a putative interstellar molecule, which, after purification by fractional condensation, is characterized by its helium(I) photoelectron spectrum.
