A thiophosphate bridged platinum–zinc hetero-bimetallic complex: [(Me2PhP)2Pt{OSP(OR)2}2ZnCl2]

Abstract

Zn[S2P(OR)2]2 reacts with [PtCl2(PMe2Ph)2] to give [PtS2P(OR)2(PMe2Ph)2]+ whereas Zn[OSP(OR)2]2(2) forms [(Me2PhP)2Pt{OSP(OR)2}2ZnCl2], (4) a hetero-bimetallic complex combining hard and soft metals co-ordinated by oxygen and sulphur respectively; both new compounds have been characterised by X-ray crystallography.
