Fourier transform infrared microscopy for the determination of the composition of copolymer fibres: acrylic fibres

Abstract

Fourier transform infrared microscopy has been used to record the infrared spectrum of a single fibre and has been found to yield quantitative information on the composition of synthetic fibres. A non-destructive and fast method has been developed for the determination of the composition of acrylic fibres.
