Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 2: Molecular and Chemical Physics was published from 1972 - 1989. In 1990 it continued as Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions.
The visible spectrum of Eosin Y belongs to a single electronic transition but incorporates several discernible vibronic bands. It follows that the spectra of dimeric species of the dye need to be examined in terms of exciton interactions between vibronic bands. Application of the relevant theory describes the observed dimeric spectra well.
