Rapid cleavage of tridentate cobalt(III)-co-ordinated triphosphate

Abstract

A tridentate tripolyphosphate cobalt(III) complex is hydrolysed in the presence of one equivalent of [Co(tn)2(OH)(OH2)]2+(tn = 1,3-propanediamine) at pH 7.3 ca. 106 fold faster than unco-ordinated tripolyphosphate.
