Synthesis of 1-phenylselenobuta-1,3-diene and its methyl-substituted homologues via oxyselenation of conjugated dienes

Abstract

Methoxyselenation of conjugated dienes followed by treatment with lithium di-isopropylamide constitutes a convenient method for the preparation of 1-phenylselenobuta-1,3-diene and its methyl-substituted homologues.
