The novel tetranuclear planar cluster [Ru4(CO)7(µ-CO)2(η2,η5,η2-indenyl)(η5-dihydroindenyl)] was prepared by the reaction of indene with Ru3(CO)12 and its structure determined by a single crystal X-ray diffraction study.
