Azomethine derivatives. Part 18. Diphenyl-, di-p-tolyl-, and di-t-butyl-methyleneamino-derivatives of phosphorus

Abstract

Reactions between methyleneaminolithium reagents Li(N:CR2)(R = Ph, C6H4Me-p, or But) and the phosphorus chlorides PCl3, PPh2Cl, or PCl3O have been used to prepare methyleneamino-derivatives of phosphorus of the following formula types: PCl2(N:CR2), P(N:CR2)3, PPh2(N:CR2), P(N:CR2)3O, PCl(N:CR2)2O, and PCl2(N:CR2)O. Features of their i.r., 1H and 31P n.m.r., and mass spectra are reported and discussed.
