Photomethylation of inorganic mercury by aliphatic α-amino-acids

Abstract

Photolysis of aliphatic α-amino-acids in the presence of mercury(II) chloride resulted in the formation of methylmercury arising from apparent fragmentation of the alkyl residue of the α-amino-acids.
