Theoretical optical rotation of oriented hexahelicene

Abstract

The three specific rotation components of an oriented hexahelicene molecule are calculated by extending the Kirkwood dynamic-coupling theory to include electric dipole-electric quadrupole optical activity. All three components are found to have the same sign and similar magnitudes.
