Abstract
Low-temperature trapping of the gas-phase pyrolysis products from 1,1-dimethyl-1-silacyclobutane allows the i.r. observation of an unstable species which we suggest is Me2Si![[double bond, length half m-dash]](http://www.rsc.org/images/entities/char_e006.gif)
