The chemistry of fungi. Part LXII. The synthesis of (±)-mitorubrin, a metabolite of Penicillium rubrum

Abstract

The total synthesis of (±)-mitorubrin, a metabolite of the phytotoxic fungus Penicillium rubrum, is reported. The cognate metabolite, (–)-mitorubrinol, has been converted into (–)-mitorubrinic acid.
