Activation of simple alkanes by a platinum(II) complex; homogeneously catalysed hydrogen–deuterium exchange

Abstract

Simple alkanes interact with platinum(II) in solution; carbon–hydrogen bond cleavage occurs, and protium in the alkane is substituted by deuterium from the solvent.
