The conformational analysis of saturated heterocycles. Part XXVI. 2-Substituted benzodioxans

Abstract

The coupling constants obtained from the 13C satellite spectra of benzodioxan show that the heterocyclic ring exists in the two rapidly inverting half-chair conformations. A consideration of the coupling constants in 1H n.m.r. spectra of some 2-substituted benzodioxans shows that a number of substituent groups prefer the pseudo-axial position.
