Limonoids from Khaya nyasica Stapf. ex Bak.

Abstract

Extraction of the timber of Khaya nyasica has given variable results. One sample has give nyasin, a new limonoid isomeric with khivorin, to which a stucture is assigned. Another sample has given mainly khivorin, 11β-acetoxy-khivorin and a number of minor constituents. Extraction of the seed has given the known limonoids khivorin, 3-deacetylkhivorin, and fissinolide, together with a new compond which appears to be the acetate of 3β-dihydro-carapin.
