Organozinc compounds. Part II. The methanolysis of dimethyl- and diphenyl-zinc
Abstract
The proton magnetic resonance spectra and other properties of the products from the monomethanolysis of dimethyl- and diphenyl-zinc, R2Zn, suggest that in solution they exist as mixtures which involve equilibria between R2Zn and complexes of the type [R2Zn, Zn(OMe)2]2 and [R2Zn, Zn(OMe)2]3, Zn(OMe)2, probably together with contributions from aggregates of true organozinc methoxides, RZnOMe.
