Mary grew up in Ipswich in Suffolk before moving to Guildford in 2004 to complete an MChem in Chemistry with a year in industry from the University of Surrey. She joined the Royal Society of Chemistry as a Trainee Assistant Editor on Chemical Communications in 2008. In her spare time Mary enjoys fencing, reading and playing the piano and clarinet as well as spending time with family and friends.
