Synthesis and structural characterization of a novel C3-chiral triamine and its trilithium triamide

Abstract

The novel C3-chiral tripodal amine HC(SiMe2NHR*)3 (1) and the corresponding trilithium triamide HC(SiMe2N(Li)R*) (2) [R* = (R)-tetrahydronaphthyl] have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction; the latter was found to have a central adamantoid cage structure in which the two-coordinate Li atoms are internally solvated by the peripheral aryl groups.
