NVQ Level 5 in Analytical Chemistry
The award of this postgraduate - level qualification demonstrates that the candidate can use his or her knowledge and skills in the work place to solve clients' problems using analytical chemistry techniques. Candidates submit a portfolio of evidence which is assessed by members of members of the RSC's Analytical Chemists Panel of Assessors, and then attend a panel interview.
Non-members of the RSC may register as candidates. When the NVQ is completed, candidates are eligible to apply to the RSC for admission as MRSC.
Successful candidates who are not already Chartered Chemists (CChem) can apply for chartered status. The evidence requirements for the NVQ meet most of the requirements for CChem.
Successful completion of the NVQ also leads to exemption from Part A of the Mastership in Chemical Analysis (MChemA) examination, the statutory qualification for appointment as a Public Analyst in the UK.
